Powder forging & HIP
Two distinct consolidation approaches for applications where density and material integrity are central design considerations.
Powder forging applies forging to a powder-derived preform. Hot isostatic pressing, or HIP, combines elevated temperature with isostatic gas pressure to consolidate powder or densify suitable components. These are separate routes with different tooling and equipment requirements.
